We Need A&P Certified Mechanics Most

Bemidji Aviation Services is hiring A&P Mechanics and Technicians to work on our 50 strong aircraft fleet of Cargo Fairchild Metroliners, Beechcraft 99s and Queenairs, along with several other aircraft type such as Cessna 172s.

Job Summary: A&P Mechanics maintain our fleet of: Fairchild Metroliners, Beech Queenairs, and Beech 99s. Essential Functions:
  • Inspect, test, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and service aircraft for approval to return to service.
  • Perform alterations of airframes, powerplants, systems, and components, following approved technical data and industry standard techniques.
  • Perform overhaul of powerplants and various components such as magnetos and landing gear.
  • Perform operational and run-up checks after maintenance is performed to ensure proper operation.
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems, using calibrated tools, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Make logbook entries and fill out required paperwork to document performed work.
  • Read, research and interpret aircraft technical data using a computer or paper manual.
  • Maintain work area, tools and vehicles in clean and safe condition
  • Ensure that safety, regulatory and company requirements are met.
A&P Mechanic Job Qualifications:
  • FAA airframe and powerplant certificate(s).
  • Have 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
  • Must be able to document maintenance performed on required forms.
  • Must have knowledge of industry standard techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in general aviation aircraft maintenance and alteration.
  • Must know how to use approved technical data such as wiring diagrams, drawings, maintenance manuals, etc. to perform maintenance and alterations on general aviation aircraft in accordance with approved data.
  • Must own their own set of tools. Minimum tool list will be provided upon request.
  • Must pass a pre-employment DOT Drug testing.
  • Must be able to pass a security background check.
  • Be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Live within 30 minutes of Bemidji, MN.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
Desired Education and Experience: Fairchild Metroliner, Beech 1900, 99, King/Queen Air, or similar type aircraft. Environment: Indoor shop environment subject to frequent interruptions such as hangar doors opening and closing for moving aircraft. Occasional working outside to do line maintenance will be required, changing priorities from time to time. Physical Demands: Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of industry standard equipment. Reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, and walking will be required. Clarity of vision at varying distances. Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner. Job Summary: This position is responsible to perform the overhaul/repair of aircraft parts, rotable components, sub-assemblies, etc. (hereafter referred to as “items”), as needed that are used on Bemidji Aviation’s fleet of aircraft. Essential Functions:
  • Disassemble and clean simple and complex aircraft items as required.
  • Chemically strip items as needed.
  • Media blast items as needed
  • Perform visual inspection of items for cracks, corrosion and conformity.
  • Use Dye penetrate and other NDT techniques to inspect items as required.
  • Use precision measuring tools to determine that items conform to technical data.
  • Prep items to be painted.
  • Reassemble items as needed after inspection is completed.
  • Perform visual and/or operational test/inspections during/after assembly of items as required by technical data to determine airworthiness.
  • Perform all work in accordance with approved technical data, task cards and industry standards.
  • Perform work with extreme attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Maintain ability to be respirator fit tested (which means no beards).
  • Conform to and comply with industry safety standards.
  • Safely and accurately utilize a variety of hand tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Technicians report to their respective Lead and are ultimately responsible to the Director of Maintenance and Chief Inspectors.
Job Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years mechanical background preferred.
  • Must be able to read and write English. Be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.
  • Must be able to document maintenance performed on required forms by writing and/or typing it into a computer.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Must own their own set of tools. Minimum tool list will be provided upon request.
  • Ability to productively work alone.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must pass a pre-employment DOT Drug testing.
  • Be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Live within 40 miles of Bemidji MN.
Desired Education and Experience: Any Mechanical training or OJT experience. Environment: Indoor shop environment subject to frequent interruptions, hanger door open and closing for moving aircraft, Occasional working outside will be required, changing priorities from time to time. Shop Location-Bemidji, MN. Physical Demands: Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of standard equipment. Reaching overhead, Crouching, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, and walking will be required. Clarity of vision at varying distances. Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner. Job Summary: This position is responsible for painting aircraft items (mostly parts and subassemblies), completing composite materials repairs, building new composite components using resin injection or open-mold layups (training provided as needed.) Essential Functions:
  • Disassemble and clean simple and complex aircraft items as required.
  • Chemically strip items as needed.
  • Prep items to be painted.
  • Media blast items as needed.
  • Grinding, Sanding, patching, applying filler to composite parts.
  • Fabricate composite components that conform to company drawings and procedures.
  • Perform visual inspections during painting, fabrication, repair and assembly of items of items for quality and conformity.
  • Mixing paint/composite related chemicals with exacting measurements.
  • Paint items as required using paint sprayer equipment in a painter suit wearing an approved respirator.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Maintain ability to be respirator fit tested (no beards).
  • Conform to and comply with industry safety standards.
  • Safely and accurately utilize a variety of hand tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
