Bemidji Aviation Services is hiring A&P Mechanics and Technicians to work on our 50 strong aircraft fleet of Cargo Fairchild Metroliners, Beechcraft 99s and Queenairs, along with several other aircraft type such as Cessna 172s.

Job Summary: A&P Mechanics maintain our fleet of: Fairchild Metroliners, Beech Queenairs, and Beech 99s

Essential Functions:

·         Inspect, test, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and service aircraft for approval to return to service.

·         Perform alterations of airframes, powerplants, systems, and components, following approved technical data and industry standard techniques.

·         Perform overhaul of powerplants and various components such as magnetos and landing gear.

·         Perform operational and run-up checks after maintenance is performed to ensure proper operation.

·         Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems, using calibrated tools, gauges, and test equipment.

·         Make logbook entries and fill out required paperwork to document performed work.

·         Read, research and interpret aircraft technical data using a computer or paper manual.

·         Maintain work area, tools and vehicles in clean and safe condition

·         Ensure that safety, regulatory and company requirements are met.

A&P Mechanic Job Qualifications:

·         FAA airframe and powerplant certificate(s)

·         Have 3-5 years of experience preferred

·         Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals.

·         Must be able to document maintenance performed on required forms

·         Must have knowledge of industry standard techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in general aviation aircraft maintenance and alteration.

·         Must know how to use approved technical data such as wiring diagrams, drawings, maintenance manuals, etc. to perform maintenance and alterations on general aviation aircraft in accordance with approved data.

·         Must own their own set of tools. Minimum tool list will be provided upon request.

·         Must pass a pre-employment DOT Drug testing

·         Must be able to pass a security background check

·         Be authorized to work in the USA

·         Live within 30 minutes of Bemidji, MN.

·         Must have a valid driver’s license

 

Desired Education and Experience:  Fairchild Metroliner, Beech 1900, 99, King/Queen Air, or similar type aircraft.

Environment: Indoor shop environment subject to frequent interruptions such as hangar doors opening and closing for moving aircraft.  Occasional working outside to do line maintenance will be required, changing priorities from time to time.

Physical Demands: Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of industry standard equipment. Reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, and walking will be required. Clarity of vision at varying distances. Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner. Must meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions including the ability to lift at least 70 pounds.  All above items with or without accommodation.

Pilots are responsible for safely and efficiently flying their assigned air cargo route in accordance with all FAA and TSA regulations. They are also responsible for ensuring flight plans are filed, checking weather/NOTAMs, and conducting pre-flights and post-flights. Applicants must possess excellent customer service skills and may be needed to help with the loading and unloading of their aircraft. Competitive salary varies by assigned aircraft, route, and position. Metroliner III qualified Captains may earn $80,500 annually starting. $6,500 annual retention bonus starts the second year of employment. Job Title: Aviation Operations Specialist/Fixed Base Operator support

Job Summary: The Aviation Operations Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate gathering, documenting, and dissemination of information to company leadership, staff, and pilots as well as providing exceptional service to general aviation FBO customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Flight Follower for Bemidji Aviation flights: includes communications with pilots, ATC, weather briefings, and flight monitoring.
  • Accurately and succinctly gather, transfer, and/or disseminate information in a timely manner through proper channels including forwarding staff calls, radio communications, and message delivery.
  • Assist maintenance personnel in monitoring of regulatory compliance items and scheduling of aircraft.
  • Accurate and timely data entry for utilization by maintenance, operations, and pilots including daily entry of hobbs times and locations of Bemidji Aviation aircraft in MS access database and excel spreadsheets.
  • Accurate and timely data entry of information relating to fuel sales, plane rentals and flight instruction.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to FBO customers through coordination with line staff to assure these needs are met in a timely manner. Customer requests may include fuel orders, use of courtesy car, assistance with overnight accommodations in the Bemidji area, etc.
  • Answer phones and transfer calls appropriately.
  • Utilize MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Power Point software, and internet searches.
  • Process transactions over point-of-sale system for the purchase of pilot supplies, Bemidji Aviation apparel, flight instruction, plane rentals, and aviation fuel.
  • Communicate instructions and information to pilots landing at Bemidji Regional Airport over Unicom and Company frequency.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment (take out trash, clean/refill coffee pots, fill vending machines, water plants, etc.)

Schedule:

This is a long-term position with a full-time position that includes evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays, a part-time position that includes evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, and a part-time position that includes week day mornings with flexibility to cover other shifts as needed.  The ideal candidate would have an interest in aviation.  Employees are eligible for discounted flight training.
